Yash Dayal banned from UP T20 League amid sexual exploitation allegations | CricTracker

Pacer Yash Dayal, who was recently embroiled in a serious legal case, now faces the threat of arrest after being accused of sexually assaulting a minor. Following the registration of a case against him at the Sanganer Sadar Police Station in Jaipur, the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has banned him from participating in the upcoming UP T20 League.

The left-arm pacer was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) squad that won the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 trophy. He delivered a strong performance throughout the season, taking 13 wickets in 15 matches. However, the ongoing allegations have cast doubt over his future in professional cricket. The UPCA’s decision to exclude Dayal from the league reflects the seriousness of the charges and the board’s commitment to upholding the integrity of the sport.

According to reports, UP T20 League team Gorakhpur Lions had bought Dayal for INR 7 lakh, but he will now be unable to play in the league due to ongoing legal issues. Recently, he faced a major setback when the Rajasthan High Court refused to grant him relief. The court denied a stay on his arrest and any police action, citing the sensitive nature of the case involving a minor. The next hearing is scheduled for August 22.

The 27-year-old’s first case was registered in Ghaziabad, where he was accused of sexually exploiting a woman by luring her with promises of marriage. An earlier complaint, filed through the Chief Minister’s online grievance portal on June 21, alleged that Dayal “emotionally, mentally, and physically exploited” the woman over a five-year relationship.

The Allahabad High Court had previously stayed his arrest in this case. However, in early July, a separate case was filed against him in Jaipur, where the Rajasthan High Court refused to stay his arrest.
