The Purna river in Gujarat is in spate following incessant heavy rainfall. Several parts of Gujarat on Sunday witnessed severe waterlogging as heavy rain continued to lash the region. As the water level in the Purna River rose after heavy rain, waterlogging was witnessed in in Navsari and adjacent areas in Gujarat. The overflowing river caused water to enter residential areas, prompting authorities to move residents to safer areas.

On waterlogging in Navsari, Mamlatdar Rakesh Jadav said: “Due to rainfall in the upper areas of the district, the water level in the river is rising. Due to this, areas in the lower reaches are facing waterlogging. We have started shifting the residents to safer areas”
