KMC Notices
According to reports, KMC officials launched a probe into 17 properties allegedly linked to Abhishek Banerjee and issued notices regarding suspected unauthorised constructions. Copies of the notices were pasted outside several properties under scrutiny.
Among the properties being investigated are two residences linked to the Diamond Harbour MP-one at 188A Harish Mukherjee Road and another at 121 Kalighat Road in Kolkata. In the Harish Mukherjee Road case, the notice was reportedly issued to Leaps and Bounds Private Limited, a corporate entity allegedly owned by members of the Banerjee family.
For the Kalighat Road property, the notice was issued in the name of Banerjee’s mother, Lata Banerjee. Both locations are situated close to the Kalighat residence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Political Heat
The notices have reignited a long-standing political controversy over properties allegedly linked to members of the Banerjee family. Opposition parties, including the BJP, Congress and CPI(M), have repeatedly raised questions over the issue during the Trinamool Congress government’s tenure in the state.
Mamata Banerjee has previously dismissed such allegations as politically motivated attempts to malign her family.
