A 17-year-old boy was shot and critically injured following a minor altercation at an eatery in Delhi’s Amar Colony area on Tuesday evening. The teenager, who was dining with friends at the time of the incident, is undergoing treatment at AIIMS Trauma Centre, where doctors described his condition as critical but stable.
Minor Dispute Turns Violent
According to police, the incident came to light around 7:54 pm after Amar Colony police station received a PCR call reporting gunfire in the area. Local police teams, along with the SHO and ACP, rushed to the spot, but the injured teenager had already been taken to Moolchand Hospital before being shifted to AIIMS Trauma Centre for specialised treatment.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the 17-year-old was eating with friends at a local eatery when a group of young men passed by. During the brief interaction, one of the men allegedly brushed against or bumped into the teenager’s chair, triggering an argument between the two sides.

Accused Returned Minutes Later
Police said the accused and his companions initially left the spot after the heated exchange. However, they allegedly returned four to five minutes later, following which one of the youths opened fire at the teenager before fleeing the scene with the others.
No other injuries were reported in the incident.
The victim’s father reportedly runs a laundry business in the Chhatarpur Enclave area. Investigators have since summoned the crime team to inspect the scene, while CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined to identify the suspects.
Police said several teams have been deployed to trace the accused, and technical surveillance is also being used to track down those involved in the shooting.
