One of the biggest talking points of the season for the Lucknow Super Giants has been Nicholas Pooran‘s form. But against the Mumbai Indians, the dashing southpaw seemed to be back at his best, in a crunch match for the Lucknow Super Giants. Prior to this match, he had scored just 82 runs in eight games.
He announced himself with a booming slog sweep for six over long on off Will Jacks’ fist ball of the game. Jacks erred with his length further in the over with two balls which wentdown the leg, and both of them were sent sailing behind square by Pooran.
Announcing his return in fine fashion, Pooran then took AM Ghazanfar for two sixes and a four in the following over. He reached his half-century off just 16 balls, the joint second-fastest of the season, but fell to Corbin Bosch for 63 off 21 balls. His innings just had one four, but he scored eight big maximums, a destructive display of six-hitting.
