Mission Mukti is a compassionate and transformative initiative led by Nagpur City Police in collaboration with the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), NGOs, healthcare institutions, and social workers. The mission focuses on rescuing, rehabilitating, and restoring dignity to homeless, destitute, and mentally ill individuals living on the streets.
Aligned with the spirit of India’s SMILE (Support for Marginalized Individuals for Livelihood and Enterprise) Scheme, Mission Mukti emphasizes rehabilitation over criminalization. Instead of treating homelessness and begging as law-and-order issues, the initiative provides medical care, counseling, shelter, skill development, vocational training, and opportunities for social reintegration.
Through coordinated rescue operations, healthcare support, and community participation, Mission Mukti is helping vulnerable individuals rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
